Department Store Discount Days
Employees purchase a $5 shopping pass to use at a department store such as Macy’s or Boscov’s for one day to shop at a 25% discount. This predetermined day usually occurs in the fall.
Games for staff, residents and families. No one loves a dunking machine more than when the Administrator is sitting in it.
Good Search/Good Shop
Search and Shop for items on-line through 100s of vendors! GEF gets a % of the proceeds.
Honor a birthday or service anniversary
Donations from individuals or a department, as well as a non-Genesis vendor sponsor, can be made on behalf of an employee’s birthday or service anniversary. Set an amount…$20… employees receives a card and a give-away item. The balance goes to GEF.
Center/Office staff can wear jeans on a specified day for a donation to GEF.
Mind Your Manners Jars
Centers/offices may have a jar where if a co-worker uses inappropriate language to express him/herself, or shows another unprofessional habit, they pay $1 to the jar. This is donated to GEF.
Many restaurants may sponsor a night where employees can bring in a card or flyer and the restaurant will donate a percentage (say 10%) of the meal cost to the Foundation.

Apply for an idea and have Company at large vote!
Plant sale or Book/DVD Sale
Ask employees to dig up their extra perennials, ground covers, etc., and pot them. Sell the plants with proceeds going to GEF. Employees can also bring in used books or DVDs to sell.
At Rosewood Center, employees sponsored residents to rock in rocking chairs to benefit GEF!
Centers/offices sponsor sporting events such as 3-on-3 basketball, Saturday morning fun run, horseshoe tournament, golf, etc. Players pitch in set $ amount to participate.
